Hilda Bezuidenhout is a freelance photographer who lives in Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia. She has a Diploma in Photo-imaging at CATC Design School, Sydney and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology. Hilda has a background working in social welfare and an interest in identity and culture. She enjoys travelling back to South  Africa to visit local grassroots organisations and spend time with communities documenting the now not so ‘new’ South Africa after Apartheid.

 

SKIN

Is a series of black and white portraits created in Australia, Thailand and South Africa. Hilda Bezuidenhout photographed friends and fellow immigrants where she explored the idea that identity and culture directly impact on a person& #39;s quality of life, health, life expectancy and human rights
